As a lifelong believer in Christ, I’ve grown weary of witnessing harm within spiritual settings. I’m tired of pretending it isn’t happening or convincing myself that spiritual abuse isn’t a serious issue—one that not only plagues the church but is also spreading beyond religious institutions.
This is why the Soul Bruises podcast was created. It’s dedicated to exposing, educating, and ultimately working toward the eradication of spiritual abuse in all its forms. Kristy L Hodson currently works as a hospice chaplain, providing emotional, spiritual and bereavement support. Graduate of Atlantic Union College in 2000 with Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Liberty University - Master's in Religion and Marketplace Chaplaincy in 2013,. And Andrews University, MDiv with a chaplaincy emphasis in 2016. Currently finishing a certification in interfaith chaplaincy with the Chaplaincy Institute. Spent 13 years doing accounting and human resources for the radio industry in Boston, Massachusetts and Memphis, Tennessee. Her ministry has led her to pastor in South Bend, Indiana, while in seminary, and then five years as a pastor in Stoneham Massachusetts. Commissioned by the Southern New England Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in 2021. Then pursued worked for 18 months in Ocala, Florida, as a hospital chaplain. She started in hospice in 2023. Kristy enjoys reading, writing, spending time with family and beloved Persian cat, Charlie.
